Is it time to wake up?

Is it time to wake up?, originally uploaded by shianghan27.

Well, I seem to be posting a photo a day.. but oh well.. These otters were taken in the Singapore Zoo in Jan 2008, cropped square.. They were so cute, sleeping even though it was 9am in the morning..

Why did i choose this photo today? Because I'm studying for my Nuclear and Particle Physics paper and there's something about this topic that makes me so wanna do a "otter" too.. haha..

Anyway, I like the way the sunlight makes the fur glossy and sleek, and catches the otter's whiskers.. Cropped it square to emphasise on the otter's heads, in particular the one on the top.. Quite cute right??

Back to studies!!

Today is the day!! It's Quantum Mechanics 2 exam time!! Well, in order to commemorate this huge milestone in my life, which i sincerely hope that i can pass, I chose this photo to share.. Its about optics actually, but i guess the equations and maths actually represent what Physics is all about and so is a good substitute for a QM tutorial.. haha..

Imaginary numbers!! which idiot imagined them in the first place??

Hope that everyone taking this module passes!! Otherwise its going to be a long 1 year wait till its offered again!! Good luck everone!!

Softly...

Softly..., originally uploaded by shianghan27.

Hi everyone! this is my new blog, and its going to be about the photos i take, which i theorise, could represent me in some way or another.. Anyway, I hope you'll like to look at my photos, as much as I do.. haha.. thanks for visiting and come back soon for more ya!!

This is a flower in my girl friend's garden.. Been wanting to take a photo of this flower for a few months now but didn't have the equipment to do so.. So when I got my new 70-300mm VR and the Canon 500D close Up Filter it was time to test it out to see if it could create the image I envisaged for quite a while!!

Well, I must say it did come out very nicely although my initial thought was that it wasn't good enough.. Subsequently, looking at this photo more and more I thought it turned out better and better..

I titled this one "Softy" because of the selective focusing on the yellow stamen on the left, and everything else is just soft due to the Bokeh (which is great!!).. haha.. with the colours nicely blending in to create what you see..
